7 invaluable tips for new bloggers

I love blogging. I really, really love it. However, it’s not always quite as idyllic as it looks (!). Lunch out in Nottingham

Spring has sprung!

It’s finally starting to warm up here in the UK! This weekend was a goodun, I took advantage of the sunny weather (or in other words, lack of snow/hail/rain…!) and went for lunch with an old friend. We checked out a local independent coffee shop; 200 Degrees in Nottingham. It’s a pretty cool place – the sandwiches in particular were on point! Rhubarb chutney? Oh yes. I hope the sun is making an appearance wherever you are. Not long now…

DIY Upcycled Pallet Crate (no power tools!)

Upcycled pallet crafts have exploded over the past couple of years – and it’s no wonder why! Pallets are a cheap – or often, free – source of strong, quality wood (remember, they are designed to hold large weights so are built to last). Their physical dimensions are really versatile; the long slabs can be deconstructed, joined together or shortened to create loads of things. In fact, with nothing more than some basic tools and a bit of elbow grease,…

A new challenge: the results

A few weeks back, I told the story of my first ever attempt at knitting (read it in this post). Well, I reached a bit of a crafting landmark today… I completed my first ever knitting project! I made a basic cushion cover, with a simple knit pattern on the back and a more complex basket weave design on the front. I used a speckled beige wool, finished off with a bright blue tweed covered button. What do you think?…
