Cricut Mountain Make-A-Thon | The Crafty Gentleman Mike Aspinall

Holy guacamole you guys, I have exciting news… I’ve been invited to speak at the “Cricut Mountain Make-A-Thon” conference in Salt Lake City, Utah! That’s right, The Crafty Gentleman is going international! 😎

(If you’ve not heard of Cricut before, then you might wanna check out this post before reading on).

What is the Cricut Mountain Make-A-Thon?

The Cricut Mountain Make-A-Thon (or CMMAT) is an annual conference held in Salt Lake City. Over the course of 3 days, attendees will be fully immersed into the world of Cricut. They’ll get hands-on in craft workshops and attend talks from leading industry experts. These classes will cover so many craft topicsThink: card making, paper-craft, sewing patterns, starting an Etsy business, photography… the list goes on!

You can read more on the CMAAT event page. It’s already shaping up to be amazing. I can’t wait!

My talk at the Cricut Mountain Make-A-Thon

I’m beyond excited to announce that I’ll be presenting at this conference. I’ll be giving a talk about using the Cricut Maker to create Simplicity sewing projects. It’ll cover everything from finding a project, through to cutting it out and making customisations to the design. It’s such an exciting talk for me, as it combines my love of Cricut with my love of sewing. Dream gig!

Salt Lake City, here I come…

I’ve never been to Utah before. In fact, the only time I’ve been to the USA (other than as a child) was when I visited San Francisco last year. So this trip is doubly exciting for me!

The organisers have even agreed to fly me out a few days early, so I’ve got a bit of time to explore before the conference. And the best bit? Gareth is coming with me! We’re both craaaazy excited to explore Salt Lake City; it looks incredible! We’re also planning on hiring a car and driving out to a few of the nearby National Parks. Have you seen the rock formations in Arches National Park?! Mind.blowing.

Of course, I’ll be blogging, vlogging and Instagramming the trip like a mad man. So even if you aren’t there, you’ll be able to see what I get up to.

You can be there, too!

Tickets for the Cricut Mountain Make-A-Thon are on sale now! They’re priced at $499, which includes breakfast and lunch each day, access to all classes and talks, a swag bag (worth $200!) and so much more. If you’re in the area, it’s a no-brainer. You’ve gotta come along. I would love to see you there! 🙂

Cricut Mountain Make-A-Thon

Thank you SO MUCH to Cricut for inviting me to this event. I find it insane that a website I built a few years ago has grown to the point that I’m now being flown across the world to talk at an international conference. Seriously, that blows my mind! I often get caught up in the whirlwind of blogging, but amazing opportunities like this make me realise how awesome this ride is. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who continues to read and follow along on my crafty adventures. You guys are the reason these opportunities can happen. I honestly appreciate it so much. Thank you! 🙂 – Mike.
