This weekend, something pretty big happened… I met my first ever nephew! Meet, Noah Francis Bladen, born on the 11th February 2018. I couldn’t resist sharing some photos with you guys – he’s just too damn cute not to show off!
My sister lives in Portsmouth, which is a 3-4 hour drive from my house in Nottingham. So this weekend was the first chance I’d had to meet Noah. We decided to make a mini holiday of the trip. Myself, my parents and my partner Gareth all booked in to a quant little inn near to my sister’s house. Gareth and I drove down straight from work and met my parents late on Friday night. Then, after a good sleep, we were up bright and early to go and meet the new arrival!
We spent Saturday morning gushing over how insanely cute he is. I mean, look at him! We also had a few gifts for him. Gareth made a cake for us all (see some of his previous recipes, here and here) and my mum knitted a little toy hedgehog. I made a quilted blanket, using the patchwork features of my new Singer. I’ll share more about the blanket in an upcoming blog post, so keep an eye out for that…
I also took my DSLR and tripod and took an insane number of photos… you gotta capture the memories when you can! I’m excited to look back on these photos with Noah, when he’s all grown up.
One of the great things about being an uncle is… baby crafts! I’m reeeeally excited for all the things I can make for him as he grows. But don’t worry; this isn’t going to turn into a baby blog all of a sudden. Although I might share the occasional baby project and adorable photo…
If you guys have any baby crafts you could recommend then I’d love to hear them. Let me know in the comments below – or even better, tag me on Instagram or Twitter if you have any photos of baby projects you’ve made in the past!
As always, thanks for reading! 🙂 Mike.
