I ticked a big item off my bucket list earlier this month. I spent a long weekend in Lisbon, one of the foodie capitals of Europe! It was every bit as picturesque and dreamy as I was hoping.
We spent 4 days exploring colourful streets, eating custard tarts (SO TASTY) and strolling along the waterfront.
You’d never suspect it from the photos, but the weather was a bit hit-and-miss (we got caught in a huuuge rainstorm on the first day). But we didn’t let that slow us down! Armed with umbrellas and raincoats, we managed to plan most of our activities around the showers (and saved the photos for when the sun made an appearance!).

A long weekend in Lisbon, Portugal
My top 3 highlights from the trip have gotta be:
Basically, a huge food market run by world-class chefs. It’s restaurant-quality food, served in a super cool old market hall. This quickly became our go-to place for a bite to eat.
A ferry across the river took us to Almada, a small city looking across to Lisbon. Here, we ate fresh sardines and drank beer in the sunshine, right on the waterfront. Bliss.
A day trip from the main city took us to the beautiful town of Sintra. It was basically a Disney castle painted in the pastel colours of Wes Anderson. I loved it.
