I’m just gonna go straight in and say it: I LOVE ORIGAMI. The Japanese art of paper-folding has had a real resurgence in previous years, to the extent that it’s now pretty ubiquitous in any crafter’s skill set. But this popularity certainly hasn’t watered down the appeal for me – I just think there’s something really satisfying about turning a plain, boring sheet of paper into an intricate work of art… just by folding it.
Now, it probably goes without saying that Origami + Christmas = a dream combination. Paper decorations have been one of my favourites since I was a young child (paper chain garland, anyone?!), and my love for them has only increased as I’ve grown up. Therefore, this year I had a go at making a simple origami star garland. Making the stars is a bit fiddly, but once you’ve mastered this technique, you’ll be able to do it without even thinking! Seriously – I’ve even gotten into the habit of taking paper into work and making origami stars during meetings… (it helps me focus, honest!). Check out my video to see how to make your own Origami star garland…
